Mia At New York Bridal Market

We are fresh from New York Bridal Market, and we have to say, it's hard to come down from this NYC high! We assume the miles of silk organza at Rivini and the beaded artwork at Enaura will keep us on Cloud 9 for quite a while. Every season is as exciting as the last, and no matter how much brainstorming we do or how many buying plans we come up with, designers always find a way to pleasantly surprise us.

Hold on to your seats and keep up because a whirlwind New York Bridal Market weekend is one heck of a ride. From viewing collections we already carry to market appointments with new designers (and maybe even a little pumping in between), follow Mia Bridal Couture owner, Jill Nelson, around the concrete jungle and get an insider's look on what really happens at New York Bridal Market.

DAY 1:

5:28 pm: Hello, NYC! Mia has arrived! After checking into our hotel at Le Parker Meridian and grabbing dinner with a friend, we get some much needed rest to prepare ourselves for an eventful few days.

DAY 2:

8:00 am: It's bright and early, and we can feel the NYC energy! We grab breakfast and hit the Drybar. (Nothing helps you conquer the day like a little hair pick-me-up.) Then we are headed off to our first round of collections: Amsale, Rivini and Alyne. Each appointment is back-to-back so the goal in mind is go in with a clear head and on a mission!

10:00 am - 12:00 pm: We are amazed by how much color we are seeing between all three collections. From the icy blue embellishments at Amsale to the blushing, printed organza pieces at Rivini, we are loving the unconventional takes on bridal colors.

1:00 pm: Time for a scheduled pump session. Yes, pump session. Hey, running around NYC for a few days doesn't mean you forget about the baby you have at home. Who said you can't have (and do) it all.

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Hopping in the cab to head over to Broadway to see one of our favorites, Alon Livne. As expected, the line is modern, sexy and glamorous. Also as expected, Alon is a delight. Right after, we make a quick stop to see Italian designer, Alessandra Rinaudo at the London Hotel.

7:00 pm: The sun is setting, and we round out our night with cocktails at the Sareh Nouri Suite and dinner at the delicious Bistro Moderno with the lovely ladies of Bella Bianca.

DAY 3:

8:00 am: Wake up call!

9:00 am: Appointment with Romona Keveza. The anticipation is high since we've never carried the line before. After swooning over the collection, we are happy to announce that Romona Keveza Legends will be available at Mia Bridal Couture in the Fall! Legends exudes a sense of elegant romance that would be perfect for Mia Brides.

11:00 am - 4 pm: We are now in the fast lane and headed to Enaura, Paloma Blanca, Randy Fenoli, Ysa Makino and our last stop at the London Hotel to see Sareh Nouri. It was exciting to witness Randy Fenoli's first collection. Although we will not be picking up the line, we anticipate seeing great things in the future from the "Say Yes to the Dress!" star.

DAY 4:

8:30 am: Our last breakfast the hotel. It's bittersweet but we are ready to see our last set of designers.

9:30 am - 11 am: To finish off our trip with the playful Hayley Paige and Jim Hjelm collections.

1:30 pm: With line sheets in hand and excitement on the brain, we jump in a cab to Laguardia Airport. It's time to head back to our beloved Houston and share with our staff all of the incredible gowns from New York Bridal Market.

If you are interested in any of these gowns you've seen here or want to schedule an appointment with an expert consultant, please call (713) 622-2022.
