Mia Celebrates the Anniversary of Jill and Michael!

This Anniversary Blog Series was started to not only celebrate anniversaries but to also pay homage to all of the amazing brides that Mia Bridal Couture was lucky enough to help since we've opened 10 years ago. It's been so much fun looking back, and what a ride it's been! Along the way, we've seen bridal dreams come true with everything from black gowns to red rhinestone encrusted gowns...all included lots of smiles and quite a bit of happy tears. Each bride now has an imprint on our hearts forever.

So, I can't think of a better way to close out this series than to celebrate the special anniversary of our very own co-founder and the bridal master herself, Jill Ivers Nelson.

When it came to choosing a gown, it only made sense that an owner of a bridal salon would chose her gown straight off the runway at New York Bridal Market. Jill knew the a-line, lace Christos gown with illusion neckline was her gown the moment she saw it. Paired with a floral, pearl applique belt and a cathedral lace veil with blusher, her look was perfection.

Jill and Michael said their "I Do's" at the Chapel Christ the Redeemer where Michael went to church as a boy. The party proceeded to the historic Parador, known for its architectural artistry and beautiful courtyard.

Having planned most of the wedding herself, Jill included a few twists on tradition (that I think every bride should take note of). In honor of the couple's first date at the Cheesecake Factory, guests indulged in cheesecake instead of wedding cake, and as an alternative to a wedding guestbook, guests signed small stones which Jill and Michael now have as a keepsake. However, the one tradition the couple did keep was a festive mariachi band, a salute to Michael's mexican background.

See her wedding here and join us in celebrating their 4 year wedding anniversary!
