Friday Feature: Syntel and Johnathon, October 18, 2014

It has been over 10 years since Syntel and I worked together at a local retail store in Lake Charles, Louisiana. So you couldn't imagine my excitement when she walked through the doors of Mia in search of the perfect gown. Now living in upstate New York, her extensive search went from Kleinfeld Bridal all the way back down to Houston, and I was determined to give Syntel the the "this is it" feeling none of the other gowns gave her. Syntel always had an eye for fashion so it wasn't surprising when I pulled the rose gold-colored Watters gown from our racks, her eyes widened, and she said she'd love to try it on. When she stepped out of the dressing room for the first time, everyone in the store knew: it was magic and it definitely was the "one."

Johnathon and Syntel's fairytale began when the pair met on Halloween of 2013 and 2 months later, on a beautiful Parisian winter day, Jonathon popped the question.

Friends playfully dubbed Syntel a fairy. So it only made sense that her bridal shoot was themed "Fairytale" which set the stage for the decor of her wedding. The blush tone of her gown against all of the vibrant greenery was nothing short of dreamy.

As a lover of the Earth, it was Syntel's dream to tie the knot outdoors. So on October 18, 2014, in honor of Syntel's late mother's birthday, the happy couple exchanged vows in front of an enchanting vintage bookcase encasing pink, white and green floral arrangements. Lustrous hues of pinks, greens and golds spewed across tablescapes while the indoor reception showcased nests of pink roses, wild flowers and ferns that hung from the rustic chandeliers.

Syntel glowed in the two piece, lace and Spanish net, blush-colored Watters ballgown which was paired perfectly with a blush veil and green suede Prada heels. Instead of a traditional bouquet, Syntel carried a beautiful floral rosary with dangling flowers down the aisle. Her bridesmaids opted out of bouquets as well. True to her fashionista mentality, Syntel wanted her bridal party to feel like they were walking down a runway rather than a wedding aisle. Each girl stunned in champagne-colored gowns of their choosing while the guys shined in gray.
