Katrina Bowden's Christos Gown

Katrina Bowden 30 Rock actress got married to musician Ben Jorgensen on May 19th at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden in New York City. Finding the dress for Katrina turned out be surprisingly drama-free. The bride tried on only a couple of gowns at Amsale before she saw a picture of a dress they didn't have in the showroom. She came back when it was in stock, and that was it. "I knew that was the one," she gushes. "I was like, 'Okay this is it. Let's do this.'"

Katrina wore the gorgeous Christos "Eve" gown. The French Alencon lace gown featured a V-back and a tulle watteau train. The actress accompanied the gown with a delicately beaded crystal belt from Amsale. Katrina's bridesmaids wore Amsale chiffon coral gowns in various silhouettes.

Happy June!  It’s THE month to get married – or at least according to tradition it is.
Allison & Aaron
Happy 3 Year Anniversary!
Mia wishes you many many more wonderful years!

In the 1500’s bathing was a much less common ritual that today (think once a month or even less in winter months).  When spring came around, English commoners’ “annual bath” would happen in May.  Therefore, while the bath was considered recent, weddings would take place in June.  Brides still carried a bouquet of flowers to cover any lingering body odor, another tradition many brides continue today.

While the reasons for marrying in June have completely changed, the month continues to be a very popular month to tie the knot.  Mia Bridal Couture takes a look back a few years at our brides who will be celebrating anniversaries this month and congratulates our June 2013 brides!
