Gown Inspiration: Lisette = Luxe

Emily, Co-Owner

What is it about Rivini’s Spring 2013 Lisette gown?
Having just arrived last Thursday, this past weekend was our first opportunity to see it on our brides. The moment our first bride emerged from the dressing room in the gown, I completely fell in love.
Maybe it’s the regal and delicate French Chantilly lace or the magnificent contrasting color of the lining, but regardless Lisette is pure magic.
The classic femininity of this gown could translate beautifully into the wedding visions of so many brides, but for me this seems like the quintessential   gown to be featured in an evening of grand splendor.

New Gown Arrival: 'Taylor' by Amsale

Erin, Stylist

It is that time of year again, the time when the gowns we have been waiting for since April begin to arrive! Meet one of Amsale's latest gowns, Taylor.

Not only does she have the sleek lines Amsale is known for, she also has an amazing Alencon lace bodice, featuring a show-stopping keyhole back! Amsale chose to use Silk Magnolia to create the slim, modified a-line skirt, and the luster of this fabric is unreal. I highly recommend coming in for an appointment so you can see her up close and personal!

As I was staring at the new gown, I had a flurry of ideas as to what kind of wedding whe would inspire! Here are just a few inspiration ideas to compliment this modern, romantic gown:

Our Endless Love

Designer & fashion artist
Deborah Griffin
Mia Bridal Couture's "Favorite Things" Giveaway has come to a close (lucky winner Mrs. Casey Priske Miller!). But our passion for Illustrative Moments knows no end!

After thirteen years of working side-by-side with luxe wedding gown designers, such as Amsale and Vera Wang, talented designer and fashion artist Deborah Griffin took a step back from the bridal industry.

However, her friends could not forget the years she spent sketching for clients, runway collections and magazines. They continued to clamour for her sketching talents, and from their persistence the idea of Illustrative Moments was born and extended to all blushing brides.

"Brides are always looking for something new and modern, whether it be the dress, the venue or even a new way to keep memories alive," says Deborah.

Every illustration Deborah creates is truly a piece of art.

She begins with numerous photos of the bride in her gown. Then final pose is selected by considering what is most flattering to the silhouette and what best captures the special details of the overall look.

The illustration is created on Bristol board using artist ink, colored pencils and markers accented in metallic. Single poses are $175 and go to $200 for a front and back view of the gown.

My favorite part? The traditional first anniversary gift is paper! So not only is this a most perfect shower or wedding gift, but I can't think of anything sweeter to receive on your one year wedding anniversary.

My second favorite part? All Mia brides receive a discount on their custom sketch from Illustrative Moments when they purchase their gown.

Fall in love with Deborah's amazing work at www.illustrativemoments.com . May we also suggest sharing this link with the husband-to-be? A little help with anniversary gifts is always appreciated!

Gown Inspiration: Double the Eylet, Double the Fun!

Emily, Co Owner

Breeze through any bridal magazine of the moment, and you will notice lace is in. Very in!

Thankfully Amsale Aberra, designer of Christos, doesn't dwell too much on what everyone else is doing. She is too busy creating what's next.

In that spirit, we are excited  about the arrival of Spring 2013 Christos gowns Gretta and Nora, both featuring the very unexpected texture of eyelet lace.

The Christos collection gives nod to the lace trend, but infuses these two silhouettes with an individualism that every bride wants for her special day.

Christos "Gretta"

Christos "Nora"
With a dramatic peplum detail, the Gretta gown beckons to the fashion-forward bride. A bride who wants to pay tribute to tradition but only on her own fashion terms.

Featuring a softer silhouette, the Nora gown bridges the line between sweet and sexy; a subtle but bold statement for a more demure bride.

Falling in love with both gowns was easy. But choosing the one? We will leave that to you! But we are happy to share how the eyelet has inspired us...

The debate of our favorite may never be settled, but it is certain the bride who wears either is chic and confident. We cannot wait for you to see these gowns in person and hear which you love!

With much excitement we are thrilled to announce Mia Bridal Couture’s second “Favorite Things Giveaway” featuring AMSALE in honor of the upcoming AMSALE Trunk Show happening September 13-15.

Be still my bridal loving heart, because we found a way to make our second giveaway even better! So what is the grand gift in this epic give? It will take two parts for me to tell you!

PART I: Win A Custom Sketch of Your Gown from Illustrative Moments

While I try not to be bias, many know my secret, I am an AMSALE girl. Blending a sophisticated polish with a subtle edge, Amsale Aberra’s creations are truly art to me. I have always dreamed of a framed sketch of my wedding gown, to preserve the art and magic of the “Bijou” design.

Maybe my daughter won’t wear my gown. But I know the sketch would be a cherished heirloom for generations.
