A Special Watters Wedding

Emily, Co Owner

In keeping with our Two Weeks of Watters leading up to the Watters Trunk Show, we are excited to feature a wedding very close to our hearts: Selina & Rudy.

When Selina became a part of the Mia Bridal Couture team, she and Rudy were already engaged. But even with the ring in place she waited until the perfect occasion (despite our begging everyday!) with her mom and sister, to actually put on a gown.

When she did finally take the plunge, it was obvious when "the one" was put on. Selina selected Watters Belmont with a grossgrain ribbon in Oyster accenting the natural waist.

Selina and Rudy decided on Vintage Villas in Austin for their ceremony and reception. As the wedding plans developed it became clear that the event would be the perfect balance of both Selina and Rudy's personalities.

The color story of charcoal grey and sunny yellow combined a relaxed, intimate feeling with a touch of modern sophistication.

Congratulations again to one of Mia's very favorite couples! Photography by the talented Jenny DeMarco Photography. See more of her work at her website!

Behind the Scenes: "Something Old, Something Blues"

Emily, Co-Owner

The third annual Something Old, Something Blues Bridal Event at the iconic House of Blues is just under one month away! (Sunday, August 12th at 11:00 AM for VIP brides to be exact!)

We are pulling out our meeting notes from the begining of the summer and those inspirational tear sheets (yes, we magazine just like you brides!), and everything is taking shape... and the Mia team is very excited!

My favorite part of this particular event is how surprising and unique the theme is every year. As you may have seen or read, this year's inspiration buzz word was "Southern". When Lauren MacQueen, Special Events Manager for the House of Blues, threw this concept out we all realized there were numerous ways you interpret the idea.

On that note, Ryan & Jace from Think Studio, just dropped into Mia with a few visuals to share and... Wow! Jaw drop! They gave me permission to leak two photos, which seems quite cruel given that I have seen much more, but it's better than nothing.
If the "E" in love goes missing post fashion show, do not look at me! There are tons of girls with "E" names... like Erin!

I know it's a small droplet of a taste, but get excited brides! The third annual Something Old, Something Blues is going to be the best yet. Save the Date for Sunday, August 12th or better yet save money and purchase your ticket now: House Of Blues Ticket Sales

Blusher-ing Brides

Erin, Stylist

Hello all you beautiful brides! Here at Mia, we have lots of brides asking the age old question-is a veil the perfect accessory for my perfect gown? While we each have our own personal preferences, that decision is extremely personal and ultimately up to you, the bride! To help you decide what kind of veil works with your unique wedding day vision, let me share a few pictures for inspiration.
